New Isn’t Always Necessary Even for Crystal Charity Ball
You’ve gotta love somebody who doesn’t rush out and buy a new dress for every occasion. But Yvonne Crum (pictured) may outdone everyone at last Saturday’s Crystal Charity Ball. It was a Japanese theme, so she pulled out a Hanae Moris gown that she bought for the Neiman Marcus Japanese Fortnight Ball in 1974.
Check out Yvonne’s shoes. Since she couldn’t find any that matched her “vintage” dress, she applied some lace to a pair of current shoes.
MySweetCharity has more about Crystal Charity in this week’s Park Cities People.
wow beautiful she looks lovely
How lovely a write up is this.. I felt great in the dress.. not as excited as I was in the ’70’s as I had not ever had a “designer dress”… loved it and really didn’t want Mayo to know what he was in for.. so I made payments on it for 3 years.. not kidding.. NM was very accommodating then… and now..just not with “pay what you want with no interest”… those were the good ole days.
Loved seeing so may beautiful gowns to the floor. and with few exceptions… everyone was “age appropriate”..CCB is one place you can really dress up and feel like a princes.. i did indeed and knew that I made a good purchase in ’74…It will never be out of style. going to Northwood University’s Fashion Collection for a happy home.
Man, I wish I was as tiny as you, Yvonne! I’d LOVE to dip into your wardrobe!!! 🙂
