Tim Gunter Resigns
Tim Gunter is still considered a newbie but we just received word that he has resigned as Highland Park High School’s band director.
To the HPHS Community:
Mr. Tim Gunter, Director of Highland Park Bands, has announced his resignation effective December 18, 2010, and his intent to pursue a career in the ministry abroad. We are very happy for Tim, as he continues to serve others in a way that provides him with a continued sense of personal fulfillment.
I greatly appreciate Mr. Gunter’s outstanding service to the HPISD Bands and to HPHS. Under his leadership, our bands have had outstanding success in marching and musicianship and have provided our school with a point of spirit and unity. We will all miss Mr. Gunter, and he will always be part of the Scot Family.
Attached are Mr. Gunter’s farewell and my statement regarding the appointment of Mr. Chris Evetts as Interim Director of Highland Park Bands, as well as the process that we will use this spring to hire the next Highland Park High School Director of Bands.
Respectfully,
Walter Kelly
Principal
Highland Park High School
This post has sat here all day like a turd in the punchbowl. Man – the band just cannot catch a break. I hope the new principal will take it very seriously that the band kids deserve a great band director, and throw the time, energy and money into the search that it will require to find one.
It’s. About. Time.
It’s.About.Time.To.Stop.doing.this…
i heard it was because the band didn’t win state 49-0.
@D- I’m with you on that. I also think that “I’m just sayin'” has played its course.
The student body probably won’t be happy. Nobody in the band liked him that much, but everybody who wasn’t in the band loved him. Sort of unusual.
This sounds fishy; Given his track record.
