Street Closures for Bush Groundbreaking

With progress comes hassle. Multiple streets will be closed around SMU today and tomorrow for the George W. Bush Presidential Library groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled to take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Street closings:

Monday, November 15
Beginning at 6 a.m.

  • Dublin Street between Airline Road and SMU Blvd. will be closed beginning at 6 a.m.

Tuesday, November 16
4 a.m. until about 2 p.m.

  • Dublin between Potomac Ave. and SMU Blvd. Notice that this is a slight change from Monday.
  • Airline Road between Mockingbird Lane and Dublin
  • Potomac between Airline and the North Central Expressway Access Road.
  • Binkley Ave. between Airline and Dublin.
  • Boedeker Drive northbound from SMU Boulevard
  • The two west driveways to Park Cities Plaza from Airline will be closed. Driveways off Mockingbird and Dublin will be open.
  • The alley behind Park Cities Plaza will be open for deliveries only.

    Just drove by a protest at the corner of Mockingbird and Ford Stadium. They have small grave markers set out on the corner and everything. First of many, I suppose…

    I saw the protesters too. None are under the age of 50. I’m sure they picked that spot so that they can poach the free public bathrooms at the bookstore. Pretty ragged crew of people who are not even from here.
