Burglar Gets $100K Payday at NorthPark Center
Mining police reports can get pretty tedious. But every once in awhile, you find a gem. Much like the burglar who used a 5-pound sledgehammer to break into Ben Bridge Jeweler at NorthPark Center on Oct. 19. He walked away with seven Rolex watches totally more than $100,000. The most expensive arm candy was a $29,700 gold dust Rolex.
According to the report, the burglar hit the outside display window 15 to 20 times with the sledgehammer before gaining entry at 9:12 p.m. and setting off the alarm. He then reached in through the window and filled a sack with watches. Senior Corporal Kevin Janse with the Dallas Police Department said nothing was caught on camera as the video surveillance only records inside the store, and the burglar was standing in the mall walkway. The sledgehammer and a work glove were recovered in a bush between Barneys and the Nordstrom parking garage. Janse said detectives have met with security and the store’s business manger but have no leads.
9:15PM?!!?!? on a Tuesday night… and no one saw (or heard) anything? That’s unbelievable.
The parking lots and other outside surrounding areas of Northpark can be a quite treacherous place. Be mindful of your surroundings there, and warn your kids to do the same.
He hit the window 15-20 times? and nobody heard anything? Never mind. Why the h*ll did the jewelers leave $100,000 worth of watches in a display overnight? They DESERVE to get robbed.
Unless,…….they were FAKE watches! Wouldn’t that be funny????? I guess not so to the insurance company…………Interesting
