Highland Park Knows How to Throw a Block Party
Highland Park Town Council member Andrew Barr and his wife, Ann, hosted an HP Crime Watch block party on Oct. 3. A resident just sent the folks over at the Crime Watch this sweet e-mail, and I just had to share:
I live at [address redacted], and want to extend an enormous thank you to the public safety officers who came to our block party last evening. We have lived in 9 states over the last 12 years, and have been to many block parties during that time, but never have we experienced anything like last night! Not only did the officers delight children and parents alike with raising the fire truck ladder, letting people try on the fire uniforms, and sounding the sirens but they interacted with the children in a way I have never seen. They allowed themselves to be chased by little ones, even agreeing to having confetti eggs cracked on their heads–what good-natured officers we have in this town!!
The children could not stop talking about it. It is just one more reason I am so glad we have chosen Highland Park as our permanent residence.
Thanks again for all the work you do, and for the “extras” you add, with wonderful humor! I am certain we have chosen a wonderful block in the best town in DFW!
Welcome to Mayberry!
