HPISD’s Financial Report Oddly Resembles a Take-Out Menu. I’m Just Sayin’.

I don’t make this stuff up, I just bring it to you.

So I pulled up the HPISD audit today and I don’t know what I was expecting it to look like, maybe a white sheet of paper with some black text as a title page. Like Plano. Or maybe if someone got super fancy there would be a Scot, kind of like Carroll ISD’s report with their high school mascot, a fierce dragon.

But I was surprised by the oriental art and Chinese restaurant font selected by HPISD. No explanation that I could find, like the art was done by a student or something. Call me crazy for noticing but it looks to have been inspired by a take-out menu.

Just ponder for a quick moment. And then carry on.

It does look like a student’s artwork and it is very well done if that is indeed what it is, but I don’t see it as appropriate for a financial report and there is no credit given to the artist.

Unexpected, original and kinda-goofy. Not at all the usual boring Park Cities thing you see. I like it for those reasons. The women are Japanese, by the way. You can tell by their kimonos.
