Dallas County DA Candidates Host Public Forum
Incumbent Craig Watkins and challenger Danny Clancy, a Jesuit grad, will meet today at noon at the Belo Mansion Pavilion for a “one hour discussion.” Why not just call it a debate? Are they afraid Hockaday will show up?
I have my doubts that the “discussion” will remain all that civil. Clancy is basing his campaign primarily on the fact that he’s not Watkins. Which, although true, can seem a bit weak. After all, I’m not Watkins either, but that doesn’t qualify me for Dallas County DA. I’m sure Watkins will want to defend his character, and as Clancy has dedicated his entire homepage to attacking it, sparks are likely to fly.
