Parking-Lot Squabble Shelved Until October
University Park’s planning and zoning commission has tabled consideration of Highland Park Presbyterian’s rezoning/parking-lot plan until a regular meeting on Oct. 12. The extension comes per a request from HPPC, as “we feel like we need more time to look at some alternatives,” church executive director Mark Story said Tuesday, “… and it takes some time to see things from several different perspectives.”
Yesterday’s P&Z meeting followed a lengthier and far more packed one in August. Public comment was allowed at the time, and the commission directed Story and others with HPPC to explore the idea of a below-ground garage.
