No Squatting Dogs Here Please
Ladies are walking and reading at the same time. Be careful not to step in anything.
A power walking UP resident just spotted this kind reminder not leave dog ick hanging around. Cute, but I bet it really only attracts the poop leaver behinders. Parkies don’t like being told what to do.
By the way, do you think this means to clean it up or to not even let your dog get in the featured position near that particular house?
A house on Cornell has about 8 of these signs around the perimeter of their corner lot. I wonder if they work? If so where do you get them? I need them in our alley.

It would be helpful if the dogs could read since the owners are clearly not paying attention.
I’d rather have poop in my yard than a squatting dog sign!
I agree with hpparent. But I also agree that I think those signs might have the opposite effect.
These signs are absurd. I honestly don’t mind if a dog poops in my yard if the owner scoops it up with their baggie and takes it with them. I have a dog, when she poops she poops – can’t reason with her. We always pick it up, though!
Agree with hpparent. The same feelings I have for the “No parking signs” plastered on peoples sidewalks. Doesn’t putting 5 of those signs in front of your house all the time look worse than a parked car? I’m assuming that homeowners put them out there, so they’re not even official. Maybe in the case of nearby construction or game parking near Ford Stadium, but otherwise, I don’t get it.
My dog will always aim for these signs. I don’t know why. It seems as if they have a magnetic field that draws my dog in. It’s always so awkward. Of course I pick up after him, but I’m always terrified the owner is going to come out and yell at me for not reading the sign.
I always pick up after our dog. The problem is people letting their dogs out in the alley and they don’t pick up after them then I walk out of my garage or take the trash out and I get an unexpected treat
Sorry, but I would have never connected the you-no-poop-here dots.
This yard sculpture just looks like a bunny whose ears have been sheared. It’s painful and visually disconcerting.
Agree with hpparent. As long as people clean it up no problem.
And the “No Parking” signs? Nice try. Anyone can park in the street as long as they don’t abandon their vehicle. It’s also rude to your neighbors who now have all the construction vehicles parked in front of their houses.
so what do we do/say to the non-scoopers as they drop loads in our yard, assuming we are around at the time? “That’s ok, the kids will get it!” is all we’ve come up with so far…and I KNOW that’s weak!
I don’t care for the signs because I don’t like the mental image (I know it is no worse than an actual dog and maybe it is better.
If your dog does his business – pick it up.
In regards to the no parking signs – I HAD to have them in my front yard. We don’t have a back entrance and only have a straight driveway – no circle drive. We had construction next door. The contractors parked in front of the house right up to the driveway – on both sides of the street and I literally could not get out of my driveway EVERY DAY. I asked them to leave me just a couple of feet on either side so I would have room to maneuver but they were not so inclined. Twice I had to drive over my front yard to get to my neighbors driveway to get out of my own driveway.
Once the construction died down I removed the signs. They are not pretty but we should have the ability not to be trapped in our driveways by inconsiderate people.
I am appalled at the lack of consideration and plain courtesy of dog walkers in HP who do not pick up their elephant sized poop on other people’s lawns. First off, it’s against city ordinance, and second, there are good reasons. Dog feces can carry and spread diseases and parasites.
It’s no different than going and smoking cigarettes and throwing the butts on other peoples lawns, or hey, Parkies , why not start just taking loads of your trash and leaving on other people’s lawns. Better yet, if you feel the urge while taking a walk, why not drop the pants and leave a big one yourself on someone’s lawn?
The people who have posted here and say they would rather dog shit on their lawn than a sign, are the lazy ass entitlement minded that think they have a right to use other people or their property because hmmmmm. You fill in the blank. They have a fat bank account, or better yet a trust account?
I have a dog and I pick up it’s poop when I walk it. It goes to show what kind of person you really are if you think you have the right to leave feces on other people’s lawns. This has been one of my biggest disappointments about moving into “the Bubble”. Money doesn’t mean class or kind caring neighbors.
I’m can’t say I disagree with No Entitlements. People have let their dogs leave poop on our lawn- where our children play-and don’t pick it up. There is a reason people have those signs-and it isn’t because THEY are inconsiderate. Some people with dogs should learn some everyday manners.
