Murphey Harmon & Jeff Sears

Murphey Elizabeth Harmon and Jeffrey Stephenson Sears were married on July 10 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, officiated by Rev. Peter Miller. A reception followed at the Houston Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Judge and Mrs. William Thomas Harmon, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herbert Price, Mrs. Francis Gilmer Harmon II, and the late Mr. Francis Gilmer Harmon II, all of Houston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Russell Sears Jr., and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Russell Sears and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hauter Spitler, all of Dallas.

Maids of honor were Stacy Boehm Sweet of Washington, D.C., and Ashley Hayes Duncan of Dallas. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Brakebill of Washington, D.C., Shaun-Elizabeth Dickerson of Austin, Jennifer Giese of El Paso, Helen Hunt of San Antonio, Amy Robinson of Atlanta, Erin Smith of New Orleans, Margaret Thompson of Memphis, and Amy Urquhart of Houston. The house party included Aurelia Benton, Lauren Davis, Brooksie Lang, and Elizabeth Oliver.

Best man was Christopher Weichsel Sears of Dallas. Groomsmen were Price Harmon of Chicago, Anderson Jones, Mathew Kellogg, Stewart Lang, Derek Louden, John Maberry, Will Mitchell, and Bart Peters, all of Dallas, and Rick Rowe of Bryan, Texas. Ushers were Chase Briggs, Taylor Etheredge, Warren Lee, Will Schoelkopf, Kevin Hayden, and Michael Jordan.

The bride is a graduate of The Kinkaid School in Houston and Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and French. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Junior League of Dallas. She works at the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science.

The groom is a graduate of Highland Park High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is employed with Catalyst Renewables of Dallas.

After a honeymoon in Punta Mita, Mexico, the couple now resides in Dallas with their dog Elvis.
