HPISD’s Site Outage Yesterday Caused by Small Inferno
A loyal Overheardian (can we still call them that?) sent this report yesterday after Merritt’s post here:
Apparently there was a downtown AT&T fire affecting fiber optic cables. Relatedly the HPISD servers have been down most of the day, preventing any website access or e-mail with the district.
Without limitation, UP Elementary was to post new kindergarten class schedules at 1P today and there is a parent/student meet and greet at Curtis Park at 5P today. Remarkably, UP Elementary doesn’t have a hard copy of those schedules. It will be hard to meet greet those in the same homeroom without schedules.
Helen Williams, communications director for the HPISD, tells me that today has been a great challenge for the entire district.
