P.S. Ramsey: That law hasn’t taken effect yet. You got affordable coverage because some free enterprise insurance company was willing to take a risk on you. The question is: “Will you be able to afford that coverage when tax rates skyrocket to pay for all the cigarette smoking, overweight, junk food eating, non-exercising people sign up for THEIR insurance?
T-Bone,
My wife & I were on the State Bar of Texas plan, through Aetna, at $3074.00 per month and we couldn’t get past underwritng from any of the major companies. After the legislation passed, suddenly a policy at Aetna became available at $1295.00 per month. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
By the way, those of us who pay taxes are already paying for the health care costs of the people you describe because they don’t have insurance and are being treated at facilities like Parkland. That is especially true here in Texas because we have the highest percentage of uninsured people in the country.
I was finally able to obtain affordable health insurance when health care reform passed!
Enjoy it while you can ol’ boy for it aint going to last much longer.
Stop. Just stop. Now you have 4:55 to check your Twitter.
Hot enough fer ya? Just wait until November…
