Young an All-Star After All
University Park resident and Texas Rangers third baseman Michael Young is going back to Cali.
Earlier today, Young was named to his seventh straight All-Star Game as a replacement for Boston’s Adrian Beltre, who was injured during Sunday’s game against Toronto.
With the addition of Young, Texas will have a record seven representatives in tomorrow night’s “Midsummer Classic” in Anaheim.
Rangers teammates joining Young, a California native, on the American League roster are: Vladimir Guerrero, Josh Hamilton, Cliff Lee, Elvis Andrus, Ian Kinsler, and Neftali Feliz.
Young was honored by the Rangers prior to Saturday’s game against Baltimore for becoming the franchise’s all-time hits leader.
Kinsler is also a UP resident – or at least is in the process of moving here (already bought the house)
@Zima- But Kinsler was already named an All Star last week. Young was just named a replacement a little while ago today.
According to ESPN 103.3, he’s not an All-Star anymore….supposedly Beltre is hurt, but has not decided whether or not to play. Michael’s not officially on the roster as of yet.
