Park Cities People won the “Feature Story” category in the Texas Press Association’s Texas Better Newspaper Contest. We were competing in Division 6 (Large Weeklies), where we also finished second in the “General Excellence” category. Our submissions in the “Feature Story” category were Georgia Fisher’s Sept. 4 story on Mockingbird Lane resident Tracy Ross McLaughlin and her auto-rickshaw and Chuck Cox’s June 19 update on Highland Park High School graduate Clayton Kershaw, who now pitches for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
