Kids playing along the handicap ramp at the pool. It was also the 2nd, 3rd, 4th all the way to 100th faux pas. Every other minute a lifeguard was yelling to someone to get out of there.

There are lots of great improvements to the UP pool. They far outnumber any “faux pas” that might have been committed. So another day we need another fill in the bubble … “the best thing about the renovated UP pool is ____”.

But since you asked … The security gate between the “baby pool” and big pool is intentionally disabled with a tie wrap, so that the gate does not latch. It’s a safety thing.

Love the new pool! Wish they would only have the lap-swimming lane open at certain hours of the day, though, and open up that lane for the kids to play.

Agreed that the improvements to the UP Pool/Holmes Aquatic Center are great and numerous. However, I do wonder why there are steps down as you exit the slide. A slip and fall there is inevitable as kids rush to get back in line.

Middle age women complaining about the crowd at the UP pool as they show up at JD’s in a bathing suit and towel. Just made me chuckle. As a newlywed and new to the Park Cities many years ago, I was amazed at women grocery shopping in their fur coats. How far we have come!

We had a pool party at our home with a whole bunch of HP teenagers 16-18. No faux pas what so ever, they were absolutely awesome, had a blast, at a ton of food and were completely respectful. There are many well behaved teens around, it’s just usually the one’s in trouble that get the attention, unfortunately.

Swim lane is great. Plenty wide enough for 2 swimmers at a time.

Hmm..that’s a toughie. We opted for the relative calm of the HP Pool yesterday, and it was pretty quiet. Rest assured though, faux pas will be happening, and I will be writing about them.

Just thought I’d check out the latest snipity comments from the ‘oh so proper’ crowd. Just wondering, is this pool for only children and their young Parkie Mom’s or can older people from Park cities join in? And to Scooter, one day you too shall be 40. Right now you sound like an uncultured primadonna who’s house was probably bought by the in-laws.

@ Amazed, funny how you blast the snipity comments, then proceed to add some of your own.
