Highland Park’s Flag Flies For First Time
Highland Park’s town flag flaps in the breeze at Town Hall.
Word came in from Highland Park’s spokesperson, Detective Marty Nevil, that the town’s first flag was hoisted at Town Hall today. The flag, which was designed with help from Mayor Pro Tem Gail Madden, was approved by the Town Council back in January. No word on whether State Rep. Dan Branch has received a flag for his office yet.
From a distance, nobody will be able to read what it says.
Perhaps that’s the idea. : )
Is it disrepectful to iron a flag or hit it with some Downy Wrinkle Releaser? It looks a little too fresh-from-the-package.
That’s one of the worst flags I’ve ever seen. As a separate but related issue, the logo upon the flag is equally horrible–it looks like it was designed by a six-year-old who just learned how to cut & paste text on a computer. And as for the flag itself, you don’t need to be a vexillologist to know that the very purpose of a flag is to communicate identity across a distance. But that flag will never look like anything but a bed sheet with some grotesquely mismatched and ill-sized fonts stamped across it.
@ Adam – DITTO! Totally unimpressive.
What happened to the yellow flag with blue writing? Looks like someone’s dish towel with some unidentifiable blue scribbling. Hate it!!!
