Molto Formaggio Wants Wine With Its Cheese And Other Shake-ups At Preston Royal
A veritable whirlwind of activity at Preston Royal. Where to start? Well, cheese emporium Molto Formaggio is out come tomorrow, consolidating operations with its sister store in Highland Park Village. “Our whole concept is focused on pairing wine with cheese,” said owner Christy Martinez. “We can’t sell wine here because it’s a dry area.” That may change in November, when a petition to allow retail beer and wine sales will likely go before voters, but Martinez can’t or won’t wait that long. But Martinez has already found a replacement. Molto Formaggio’s “good friends,” Snider Plaza’s Creme de la Cookie will be moving into the space.
Meanwhile, Tango Zango next door is closing today. The home goods boutique is all but cleared out, with clearance items here and there. The owner was none too happy about the closing and wouldn’t say much, but mentioned that kids’ clothing boutique Chocolate Soup, which happense to be on the other side of Royal Lane, will be moving in. The sales clerk there hadn’t heard about it, so I’m trying to confirm and see if a new tenant’s lined up.
