Don’t Touch People
As I left a lunch meeting in Snider Plaza today, a raspy-voiced older woman hollered to me, “Ma’am.” I turned and she said she wanted to see my necklace (which wasn’t anything special). She approached and TOUCHED it! While it was on my neck. A stranger.
It was odd and uncomfortable so I casually backed up and thanked her with a half smile/ half get your hands off of me grin.
Lady, don’t touch people you don’t know. And are you a purse snatcher or something?
You might want to “see” someone about those phobia’s ya got there……
A purse snatcher? Her last name wasn’t Schumacher, was it? Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher may have looked like a sweet old couple, but they were robbing the guests at Kellerman’s blind. To think that Johnny almost took the fall for them…
Exactly, bc! That’s what I’m talkin’ about. That and germs.
I knew it was really about the germs, that’s what I was talking about. Worrying about germs from someone touching your necklace is……..not normal. How do you handle the friendly air kisses that are all the rage these days? All those faces looming in right up to your face?
And don’t touch other people’s babies either!
and don’t touch other people’s bellies!!!
People come up to my daughter all the time and want to touch her hair (it’s red)…very uncomfortable. They say things like, “Oh, it’s so soft, I didn’t realize it would be so soft!” Like she’s a poodle or something. She’s 14.
Blog, please let me apologize for my post to this yesterday. It appears you took it off. That is ok. I didn’t think it would offend, but it must have.
kmom: What’s “normal?” and what’s wrong with not wanting to be touched?
