Holmes to Address Public Tonight at UPPL
Remember Karen Hughes’ visit last month? The former White House adviser took part in the University Park Public Library’s ongoing speaker series, and now it’s UP Mayor Blackie Holmes’ turn. Seems he’s modest enough to play second fiddle at his UPPL appearance, which will take place at 7 p.m. tonight.
“I’m no Karen Hughes,” Holmes said, laughing, “but I’m happy to tag along.” The event “is somewhat a state-of-the-city talk,” he added. It will be his last such speech as mayor.
