Highland Park DPS Wins Battle of The Badges

The results from Saturday’s blood drive and badge vote and the totals from Friday’s blood drive at University Park City Hall and Highland Park Town Hall are in, and Highland Park won the first annual Battle of the Badges blood drive 64 to 30.

Park Cities Rotary Club blood drive chairman Jack Kearney said that each of the 113 units collected will benefit up to three patients, which he says will contribute to saving and improving the lives of hundreds of people.

The Rotary Club called the event a raging success, and is looking to award the trophy to HP and a plaque to UP at their respective council meetings.

“These results are spectacular,” Kearney said. “We could not have achieved or exceeded our objectives for the drive without the significant contributions of the UP and HP men and women in blue and their supporters.”
