Lady Scots Face Wakeland Tonight
The Highland Park girls basketball team is hoping this year’s playoff run won’t be as brief as last year’s.
The Lady Scots (17-12) will take on Frisco Wakeland (25-6) in a bi-district game at 7:30 p.m. at Garland’s Naaman Forest High School.
The Lady Scots made the playoffs after a six-year hiatus last season, but were quickly escorted out of the postseason by Frisco, 106-42, in bi-district.
HP, which finished third in the District 10-4A standings, comes into the game with six wins in its last seven games. Wakeland, the 9-4A runner-up, is coming off a 53-42 loss to McKinney North in the regular-season finale.
Tonight’s winner moves on to face the Kimball-Lincoln winner in the area round later this week.
