On Tuesday Andrew Buckley and I took a tour of the soon to be open Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden (get the scoop here). Even though we are well above the targeted age group — kindergarten to 6th — we both agreed that we had a great time walking (and playing) in the garden.

Out of the 150 interactive exhibits, the Plant Lab was one of my favorites. Here they’ll have a new experiment every weekend for you and your kiddos to try out while having fun and learning about plant biology. For their first demonstration, we learned how to extract strawberry DNA — the below image being the final results.

The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden will be open to the public on September 21, and I highly recommend you stop by — whether or not you have kids in tow. Tickets are $3 for members and $18 for non-member adults, $13 for non-member children ages 3 — 12.
